Online Vs Offline Promotions

Which is more effective: online or offline promotions? In truth, it depends. There are many factors that determine the effectiveness of online and offline promotions, and the best promotion often incorporates both elements.

One of the reasons online promotions have become so popular is because they usually are cheaper to execute than traditional offline promotions. While some costs -- such as legal, fulfillment and registration fees -- are the same, online promotions significantly reduce the costs associated with development, the processing of entries and the development of databases.

Factor in all the costs of a traditional promotion vs. an online promotion and the bottom line costs favor the online promotion. Even with all the development costs and database and back-end programming requirements for a robust online promotion, the total cost tends to be much cheaper than the traditional costs associated with printing and postage of direct mail.

If the direction was to enter a sweepstakes or participate in a contest, then there should be no question as to how to take the next step.

After the promise has been fulfilled, there must be additional incentives to continue. If the goal is to collect data from customers, they have to be given a reason to give that data. A high degree of interactivity online is often a compelling reason to continue. If the promotion is fun, a consumer is likely to continue. If the promotion is simply masking a long and arduous survey, then you'll see quite a big drop-off between those who come online and those who answer all your questions.

If you continue to reward your customers throughout the marketing chain -- i.e. awareness, interest, desire and action, then they are likely to complete the entire cycle. Of course, gathering data or making the first sale is just the beginning. Retention starts with the consumer's consent to be marketed to in the future, and as long as their consent is not abused, future marketing efforts online can be much more profitable than in the paper-based world.

The most common failure with respect to integrated media promotions is when the offline components are not in synch with their online counterparts. That is, the promise made using traditional media is not followed through online or vice versa. Underestimating online traffic is another problem that results in unhappy customers. If a radio spot is extremely compelling, the Web servers must be able to handle the peak load times.

Follow Your Strengths to Success

There are seven marketing strategies I could use to promote my business Two I'm really, really good at, one I have the talent to be good at but I need to step up to the plate, The other four vary from medium to definitely less than medium and I feel a great resistance to pursue them.. My question is do I stay safe in the comfort zone of my strengths, do I push myself out of my comfort zone and broaden my spectrum, or do I bluff my way and do them all?

Let your strengths be your guide

There is a reason we tend to favor some activities over others, we love doing them and we are probably very good at them. I love to write, I love to teach and I've been doing them all my life. So I'm going to keep those at the core of what I am doing. Fortunately my strengths are in the most technical aspects of marketing: a strong Web Presence Strategy, a Writing Strategy that includes information products and a steady article writing campaign and Speaking and Demonstrating Strategy which even with teleclasses, I'm not fully taking advantage of.

But what about the other four marketing strategies I could use to promote my business? They are the ones everyone should be able to do. They are the "easy" ones. And they are not yet my strong points.

Check out your second best strength and develop it

But hey, I'm into growth - both personal and business. So I really ought to just pick one and strengthen it. But they are all about reaching out to others. They are all about connecting and relating and talking to others. So in the midst of my discomfort over these strategies I have to find what I am willing to do; how can I adjust how I view them and find my own unique ways to get the results these strategies produce?

Align with your passion and purpose

I love what I do and I love sharing it with people. I write an emagazine and a blog. But those are one-way conversations from me to them. It's not a two way exchange.

The Keep in Touch Strategy is one of the most important and effective of the seven strategies and would be within my comfort zone. I already know these people. This is just a matter of emailing a personal note, picking up the phone for a chat, or sending them a card. The point is to have an exchange, to reach out on a personal level and see how they are doing. I need to listen to what's going on for them.

I'm going to schedule an hour a week to reach out and acknowledge someone I know. There now, that's one strategy added.

Flex those muscles!

That leaves three strategies and I don't have to do them all. But being aware of them helps me notice when I do them organically. I activate the Referral Strategy when I connect my client who makes home-made gourmet dog treats with a client who wrote a wonderful book about a dog. I activate the Networking Strategy when I volunteer to help people connect with potential roommates for an upcoming training we are taking together. And the Direct Outreach Strategy may just be as simple as reaching out to someone I admire to explore some joint ventures.

Follow Your Strengths

I'm not going to beat myself up for what I can't do comfortably. I'm not just going to focus on the things I do easily either. I'm going to stretch a bit. I'm going to flex my muscles and look for my personalized version of a strategy that gets the results I want. I'm going to pick my moments and move gently into expansion. I'm going to follow my strengths to success.

Skills and talents are two different things. You can learn a skill like riding a bike, but it takes talent and passion to win a bicycle race.

Cherish your gifts

When you look carefully you will see your talents. They are about what you love to do. They are what others always ask you to do for them. These are your strengths. Build them up. Bundle them creatively. Use them as your foundation.

Online Network Marketing System

The importance of having marketing system is crucial to your success as a network marketer. Specifically I deal with online systems. I'm a child of the "internet age" and the whole online network marketing system seems to make so much more sense. Don't get me wrong... you don't have to be generation "internet" to get some simple tasks accomplished and generate leads, but yes, you absolutely will need an online network marketing system that will work for you.

In order to best help you understand why a system is so vital to your success, consider what your business (or any business for that matter) would be without a system and without processes defined clearly and procedures in place to handle each of the processes. It would be chaotic, confusing and most of all, ineffective.

Let's take the alternative of that which is an effective system designed specifically to do most of the "heavy lifting" for you. What I consider an "ideal" online network marketing system would need to include the following:

1. A Lead Capture page with one and only one purpose: To collect the name and email of a prospect. This may be done by giving away some sort of free product (think ebook or "free report") or possibly even detailed information about the products or system that people would be getting into once they committed to join your organization.

2. Another page designed to elaborate on the product, create a sense of urgency, create the desire to own the product or system and of course the main benefits of owning this product (whatever that product may be).

3. A "Funded Proposal" product or application. Something specifically designed to weed out the "tire kickers" or "lookie-lous". Let's admit that no matter your opportunity, there are a lot of people that simply don't qualify and aren't worth your time pursuing as potential business partners. This product should separate those that are serious about this opportunity from those that aren't very serious. This funded proposal system should have a price point of around $20 - $70. Ideally, somewhere around $50 or less. This variable can be tested. Let's face it, if the prospect isn't willing to spend $50, what makes you think they'll ever dedicate the time, effort, and marketing budget required to succeed with this system of yours??

4. A method of notifying you of the progress along the way that your prospects take from being prospects, to becoming leads (i.e. providing you with their name and email address) to becoming purchases (at least of the funded proposal product) and then eventually business owners along with you. This method of communicating with you would most likely be email notifications, but some sort of statistics package built into the system will help greatly for you to know which of your marketing methods are producing the best results (search marketing, search engine optimization, free classified sites, article marketing, or social networking, etc.)

5. Tracking. As I just eluded to, you should have a method of tracking the results. Google Analytics works well, other options may include Hypertracker or the system itself may have very specific reporting capabilities built into the system itself.

As you can see from this brief outline, you have a system where your entire "job" or task related to the system is to drive traffic to that landing page. You'll only take time with those individuals that have actually passed the "funded proposal" test. Ideally, you'd even have a method in place to have those leads contacted by professionals even before you ever got them on the phone. This would eliminate the problems of having to "close the sale" and would truly take the individual out of the equation.

Lastly, in my opinion, the best part about this system is not only the end result of getting sales, but the list building that you're doing will produce leads that are interested in anything related to working from home, home business opportunities, network marketing, making money online, etc. and YOU OWN the lead. Assuming 90%+ of all your leads never even make it past the funded proposal test, and the other 10% don't all become distributors or business owners in your organization, you have a big percentage of those leads that never actually take any action in making you money. This isn't a problem when you consider sending another product or service offering to this group via email... remember, you own the leads, so you can market to those leads as long as they stay in your auto-responder and don't unsubscribe.

With the fact that you own the leads and should be able to market to those leads, the value of each lead from the original reason you got that lead (your main business opportunity) should be well in excess of what you paid to get them (even if you're bidding upwards of $2 - $3 per click on a network like Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing).

The other great part about this system is that the funded proposal can also be used to offset the cost of the advertising (again assuming you decide to pay for your traffic to your landing page).

So, you can see that the value of a system like this in helping you build your business, manage the time you allot for each of your "leads" and what you can do with the leads that never even buy your opportunity. A system like this would be awesome. Your options are to find a system like this and tweak it to match your product... or custom create your own system. Either way, your ability to use a system like this will great increase the likelihood of your success.

Is It Possible To Get Rich On The Internet?

Now let me go straight to the point, is it possible to get rich quick on the Internet? I know you have seen and heard several get rich quick on the Internet claims. I am sure 'Make $100,000 in 3 hours Without Any Stress Whatsoever' is a phrase you have heard so many times.

But the truth is,a lot goes into building an Internet Business such that it would be improper to say it is a get rich quick process.While there are tremendous possibilities on the internet, you have to be patient. 1.What-what am I going to sell online which people will gladly give me money in exchange for? Is it a product or service? This largely depends on your hobbies or personal experience as well as a market need. Locating a need in the market and deciding to fill that need.This way,you are assured that people already want what you want to produce, so, you don't need much convincing to sell.This is largely true for someone who wants to go into the Infoproducts creation and marketing business because anyone who has been online for sometime nows there are different business models on the Internet.

2.Who-who will buy what I am going to sell online? This involves being able to single out a market that you are going to serve on the Internet.On the Internet,success does not come from serving everybody.It comes from having a small market and really satisfying that market.To be able to single out a market to serve,it will help to read articles on finding a profitable niche market.

3.Where-This involves asking yourself where you are going to be selling what you intend to sell.Is it on a blog,website,etc.It also involves deciding where you are going to advertise your products or services.

4.When-This involves asking yourself when you are going to launch your product or service.Or when you're going to advertise.Is it everyday,every week or what? That is it: the 5Ws and H of starting an Internet Business.They will no doubt help you in streamlining your thoughts and plans.

Having said that,let me say having a plan is really the first step in starting a successful Internet business.Setting goals and stating how you want to achieve your goals will help a lot.Now,put everything on paper,don't just let your goals roam endlessly in your mind, concretize them, put them on paper.Give life to them and they will no doubt come to pass.

After developing an extensive plan,it is time to build the business. Depending on which internet business model you have decided to run with,you now have to create a web site, generate content, make it visually appealing and easy to get around. You will come to learn that your web site will never be completed. In order to stay ahead of the competition, you constantly have to be adding fresh content and new ideas.

Now that you have a web site up and running, it is time to promote the internet business. It is crucial you take the time to advertise every day for an hour or more. Top 5 Ways to Maintain Your Website

A Blog can be anything you want it to be and it is a very much favored way of attracting the search engines.
